Magnet by Shibuya 109
Magnet by Shibuya 109 is a shopping mall located at the north exit of Shibuya station in Tokyo. At the occasion of renovations in April 2018, the building’s roof was endowed with a small outdoor observatory named "Releasing Shigeki". It offers a poor elevated view behind a window on the famous Shibuya Crossing.
Since moving to a Shibuya city in 2024, I’ve been discovering many spots I
proudly recommend to tourists. I updated this article in January 2025 to incorporate my findings from this research, along with the latest information for 2025.
Another reason for updating the article is the growing interest in tours that allow visitors to safely and deeply experience Shibuya’s nightlife. Because Shibuya is a city that continues to develop at a dizzying pace and in complex ways, tourists visiting for the first time find it extremely difficult to discover the truly excellent spots beloved by locals.
This is why food tours led by knowledgeable local guides who know Shibuya inside and out have been gaining popularity, as they take visitors through Shibuya’s maze of izakaya establishments.

Shibuya Scramble Night (Level 7)
A new spot where you can enjoy high-quality entertainment in a casual setting. From 10am to 10pm, there will be events such as live music and collaboration cafes, as well as a food court with popular dishes selected from all over Japan. The observation DJ lounge will be open until 5am the following morning. Additionally, every Friday, Saturday, and the day before a public holiday, it operates as a nightclub called "S NIGHT CLUB" until 5am the following morning, making it a complex entertainment space that can be enjoyed daytime, nighttime, and even late into the night.
